I first began working in the engraving industry for opinicus9 Glassworks in San Diego California. The owner Tim would make various glass pieces and glass artwork and I designed vector graphics to be used with a vinyl plotter machine. Once printed the vinyl stickers could be applied to piece in a pattern that I would hand lay, then a sandblasting machine was used to remove all the glass in the negative space. Working inverted is a unique challenge as it requires a lot of planning to ensure the engraving is seamless.
I am always open to engraving collaborations, please feel free to email me with any questions or project ideas!
Currently working with an Epilog Fusion 32 CO2 laser system. Laser engraving technology has become a standard in the fine engraving industry. Lasers are multidimensional tools that can be used to make virtually anything out of various materials. Being able to cut through wood, leather, and even paper; there is truly no end to the creative inspiration this kind of technology brings.
